Installing means to setup a program onto a computer to make it useable. In many cases a special setup program will do anything necessary automatically so that installing is reduced to start the setup program and follow possible instructions. The installation is the name of the result achieved in case of success.
If a whole computer with several programs needs to be set up the whole process is called installing as well. Installing a computer means that all software which is usually neccesary to run and use a computer is installed onto it.
